This is Summerfield’s fourth solo exhibition, titled “Night Falling,” the name of one of his works.

The exhibition explores themes of change, depicting the passing of time, seasonal growth and dreamy otherworldly places, bringing the artist’s imaginative worlds to life.

According to Summerfield,  “Since mid 2012 I’ve been working with new technology that has allowed me to experiment with the way I paint digitally… I have experimented with varying the scales and the sense of depth in these works and played with light and shadow to stimulate different emotional responses… I feel these new works really capture the essence of places that we have all been to, either asleep or awake.”

Summerfield’s previous exhibitions have being “Age of Wonder” (2008), “Secret Cities” (2010), and “Sky Aquarium” (2012).

“Night Falling,” at The Front Café and Gallery, 2 Wattle Street, Lyneham, ACT until  November 18.
