Catalogues become art

They keep  turning up in the letterbox, tucked inside the local newspaper and  in stands at the shops.

But in this constant stream of noise,  specials, two-for-one, 20% off,  ANU Printmedia and Drawing graduate, Kate Smith,  caught glimpses of ‘wonderful colours and potential patterns’.

“It just needed rearranging,” she says and “Cut ‘n’ Paste,” her Emerging Artists Support Scheme exhibition in gallery@bcs, gave her the opportunity to do just that.  You can catch it until close of business tomorrow.

The EASS prize won by Smith included free gallery hire for a three week exhibition, design printing of promotional material, and catering.

Cut ‘N’ Paste by Kate Smith, Belconnen Community Centre, Swanson Court, Belconnen until September 13.
