CEO Andrew Blyth says: “Canberra businesses are doing it tough, and are likely to do it tough for some time. Unfortunately, there is an alarming disconnect between what the Chamber is seeing every day and recent reports suggesting the ACT economy is performing strongly.”
The free crisis summit (which includes breakfast) will held at the Ainslie Football & Social Club, 52 Wakefield Avenue, Ainslie, 7.15am, on Wednesday, August 14.
“Today, Canberra has the lowest business survival rate in the nation; it has seen a 40 per cent increase in business insolvencies in the last 12 months; and we are receiving many calls from business owners seeking advice on downsizing,” says Mr Blyth.
He says the summit will provide businesses with the chance to hear from experts across a range of business areas, including workplace law, economics, and insolvency.
“Importantly, this is a chance for the ACT and region business community to have their voice heard,” says Mr Blyth.
