Delivery driver held up with knife

POLICE arrested a man early this morning, just a few hours after he is alleged to have stolen a delivery driver’s car at knifepoint.

Police say the 20-year-old Kaleen man held up the delivery driver with a knife at 11pm last night outside a residence in Kaleen, demanding cash and the keys to the car.

He was arrested at about 1am this morning in the car park of a business on Grimwade Street in Mitchell, after police noticed the vehicle parked outside, and waited for the man to come out.

He was taken to ACT Watch House and charged with one count of aggravated robbery. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court later today.
