SYDNEY musician and performer Annaliese Szota will tour her latest show, “DizzKneeLeeks”, to Canberra this week.
Nowra-raised Szota is an honours graduate of the University of Wollongong’s famous performance course. As well, she has worked as an actress, singer and children’s acting coach on the feature film “Goddess,” starring Ronan Keating and Magda Szubanski.
Szota is also an accomplished pianist who, as an independent musician, has shared the stage with artists like Deborah Conway, Wes Carr, and Passenger. She has just produced her second EP “Be The Happy People”.
This touring show is derived from an obsession with all things Disney, and poses a series of ‘What ifs’.
What if the huntsman had retrieved Snow White’s heart as instructed? What if the Blue Fairy turned Pinocchio back into a block of wood? What if rescuing Sleeping Beauty took longer than anticipated so that by the time the Prince reached her she was nothing but dust and bones? You get the idea.
Somehow, all of that darkness is blended with her favourite indie pop singing style.
Annaliese Szota in “DizzKneeLeeks” at Smith’s Alternative Bookshop, Alinga Street Civic, this Thursday and Friday (August 29 & 30) at 8pm, Bookings to 6247 4459.
