THE ACT’s acting Fair Trading Commissioner, Jon Quiggin, has warned the public not to do business with landscaper Todd Daly, who trades under the business name All Rock Landscapes and Constructions.
Mr Quiggin advises against doing business with Mr Daly, who has been taking deposits for landscaping jobs but not completing the work.
“Mr Daly has already received thousands of dollars from ACT residents without fulfilling his various contracts and there has been no indication that he intends to remedy this,” Mr Quiggin said in a statement. “Members of the public must be vigilant and avoid entering into any business arrangements with Mr Daly.”
The Office of Regulatory Services (ORS) had received five complaints about the landscaper, who specialises in stonework, according to Mr Quiggin.
Each complaint alleged Mr Daly took large deposits for landscaping services he either failed to finish or did not provide at all.
“The ORS is investigating Mr Daly’s alleged contraventions of the Australian Consumer Law and has made several attempts to contact him regarding the complaints, but has so far not received a response,” Mr Quiggin said.
Mr Daly continues to advertise his landscaping and building service on several business and trade listing websites and the acting Fair Trading Commissioner believes he continues to take deposits from consumers for work.
Mr Quiggin urged anyone who had recently engaged the services of Mr Daly to contact the ORS on 6207 3000 and select the “Fair Trading” option.
