Drunk mother arrested with four kids in car

Police afp cops-0021A CONDER mother’s driving licence was immediately suspended last night after she was found to be driving three times over the limit with her four children, aged between six and 12, in the car.

Police issued an immediate licence suspension notice to the 36-year-old woman after she was found to be driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.154 during a traffic stop on a Toyota Prado on the Tuggeranong Parkway at around 10.40pm.

Asked whether she had consumed alcohol that evening, police say the woman replied that she had drunk two bottles of wine, then corrected that to “two glasses of wine”.

On returning a positive result, the woman was arrested and taken to the Woden Police Station where a second test returned a BAC three times the legal limit.

She will be summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
