Family carjacked at Braddon petrol station

A MOTHER and her children were forced out of a car in a brazen robbery at a Braddon petrol station, say police.

Around 8pm last night the woman and her two children were in their car at Braddon Seven Eleven petrol station when a man approached them, demanding they exit the car.

The family complied with the alleged offender, who drove away. The victim immediately contacted police. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Around 8.20pm police observed the stolen vehicle in Lyons. The man was arrested and will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today, charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving unlicensed. Police will oppose bail.
