Gungahlin gas leak

TWO houses have been evacuated in Gungahlin after workers accidentally broke a gas supply line this morning.

It was initially thought the leak posed no risk to nearby residents, and that repairs would take about one hour.

Two houses were later evacuated as a precaution due to changeable wind conditions, and repairs to the 160mm line are continuing.

ACT Fire & Rescue are currently on the scene at Gundaroo Drive.

UPDATE: A third house has been evacuated and the gas line is still yet to be repaired.

UPDATE 2:  The gas line has now been fixed.
