Hit and run suspect comes forward

A 35-YEAR-OLD Harrison man is assisting police with inquires in relation to Sunday morning’s hit and run in Braddon, which injured two 19-year-old men.

Police say the man handed himself in voluntarily and is not currently being held in custody.

Acting Sergeant Graeme Cooper of the Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team says the police investigation was helped by widespread media coverage of the incident over the past few days.

“It’s important to remember however that this man is only a suspect at this stage and I urge the public, particularly those active in social media, to be cautious in pre-judging this man,” Acting Sergeant Cooper says.

A white utility fitting the description of the offending vehicle was found at the man’s house and is undergoing forensic analysis.

One of the two injured men, Burma Han, is in a serious condition with head injuries.
