AS PART of its Bush Capital Celebration weekend, the Australian National Botanic Gardens is throwing the “Gum Tree Hop” outdoor dinner dance.
While they’ve planned a jam-packed weekend, which will include the opening of the new Red Centre Garden to the public, the dinner-dance is a new venture.
Local musicians, traditional dancers, artists, crafts people, storytellers, historians and gardeners will share their passion for the bush capital and there will, of course, be classic Aussie bush barbecue too.
Popular bands The Fuelers, Hashemoto and Sparrow Folk will entertain the expected crowd with bush, blues and rockabilly music, all under the watchful eye MC, “Swagman Robin Davidson,” a well-known Canberra theatrical personality.
Gum Tree Hop, at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, 6pm to 9pm, Saturday, November 2. Adult tickets $15, 17 years and under free. Bookings essential to anbg.gov.au/gardens
Floresco in the Gardens cafe will to cater for dinner, which can be pre-ordered at anbg.gov.au/gardens
