Aboriginal ANU student Brogan Goode says he hopes his own success at university can inspire more indigenous Australians to pursue degrees.
Mr Goode will formally receive a $5000 scholarship for indigenous students tonight from the university’s College of Business and Economics.
“By receiving this scholarship award I believe that I can make a difference in the wider indigenous community by advocating the importance of a tertiary education,” he said.
Mr Goode is a member of the Darug tribe from Blacktown in Sydney, and is in his second year of a Bachelor of International Business degree.
He is also the 2013 Indigenous Officer on the board of the ANU Student Association, and has recently been appointed a student ambassador for the College of Business and Economics.
