NOMINATIONS have opened for the 2013 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards which recognise individuals, organisations and businesses that welcome and include people with disability. And this year, two new categories had been added to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the awards.
Comedian and disability advocate Stella Young will host this year’s gala dinner event in the Great Hall of Parliament House on Wednesday, December 11.
“This year we have added Most Inclusive Centenary Event and Emerging Young Leader from the disability community,”said Disability Minister Joy Ms Burch.
Other categories are: inclusion in the arts, education, business, sport, government, tourism and hospitality, in addition to the Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence.
“The Awards recognise organisations and individuals working to create positive change and a more inclusive Canberra community. They are also an opportunity to raise awareness and highlight the achievements of people with disability in the ACT.”
Submissions close Monday, October 14. More information, including the nomination form, at inclusionawards.com.au/
