Men arrested after multiple vehicle damage

POLICE have arrested two men in relation to multiple vehicle damage last weekend in the Gungahlin suburbs of Forde and Bonner.

Police will allege that the men, both aged 19, from Higgins and Macgregor, were in the company of others in a silver Ford Ranger dual cab utility which was driven around the suburban streets.

It will be alleged that house bricks, which the men had taken from a building site, were thrown from the utility at other vehicles, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage. In this most recent incident, as many as 11 vehicles were damaged, with broken glass and dented panels reported.

The two men will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date on property damage charges.

Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing, including links to previous and similar property damage incidents reported in the Dunlop and Macgregor areas.

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to police but may have information which could assist the investigation are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
