Motorbike rider forced off road

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured on Saturday night after being forced off the road by an oncoming car driving on the wrong side of the road.

Police-3210Police say the 34-year-old man was riding his black Honda motorcycle east on Cotter Road through Curtin, when he swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a vehicle driving straight at him.

The motorcycle crashed off the side of the road and the rider suffered extensive injuries, including multiple fractures. The driver of the car fled the scene, and the rider was unable to provide a description.

The collision occurred at around 7pm within a speed-restricted roadworks zone, about 200 metres west of where McCulloch Street meets Cotter Road.

No witnesses immediately came forward and police are appealing for the public’s help.
