THE public is invited to take part in an online survey as part of a social values assessment of the former Royal Canberra Hospital site and limestone outcrops on Acton Peninsula.
The National Capital Authority is preparing a Heritage Management Plan for the Commonwealth Heritage Listed places on the peninsula, which is intended to provide a better understanding of the heritage values of the former hospital buildings and other features and how these values can be conserved.
The anonymous online survey asks participants about their associations with the Royal Canberra Hospital site, the remaining former hospital buildings and their immediate setting, and asks what this place means today.
The places are:
· the former isolation block/initial TB ward (Building 1)
· the H block/initial isolation ward (Building 2)
· the medical superintendent’s residence (Building 15)
· the hospital’s immediate surrounds (including the nearby limestone outcrops and trees)
The survey closes at 5pm on December 1 and can be accessed at nationalcapital.gov.au/haveyoursay/index.php/community-consultation/299-acton-peninsula-heritage-management-plan-survey
