Ram raid in Belconnen

RAM raiders smashed through the door of a cafe in Belconnen early this morning and stole a cash machine from inside.

police1Police believe the ram raid was committed by two men who were seen driving a white, late-model station wagon near the Black Pepper Cafe on Beissel Street in Belconnen just before 1am this morning.

Officers arrived a short time later to find the glass door at the side of the premises had been smashed and pulled out of its frame, and the ATM stolen.

Any witnesses that may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour around the café at the time of the incident, or who may have seen a suspicious white vehicle in the area, can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or by going to act.crimestoppers.com.au
