Rising classical guitarist at Wesley

RISING classical guitarist Stephanie Jones will stage her debut concert for “Wednesday Lunchtime Live” at Wesley Music Centre tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20.

Jones is a third year student in classical guitar performance at the ANU under  Timothy Kain and Minh Le Hoang, who will be continuing her Honours studies next year.

In 2012, she won second prize in the Adelaide International Guitar Competition and earlier this year she won first place in the Sydney Eisteddfod, Open Guitar Section.

As well, this year, Jones was a awarded a John Wallis Fellowship from the Canberra/Versailles Association and a Friends of the School of Music Travel Grant to study Classical Guitar in Europe for 2 months.

Tomorrow she will be performing J.S. Bach’s Prelude “Fugue and Allegro” BWV 998, Philip Houghton’s “Stele,” Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Sonata “Omaggio a Boccherini” op 77 and more.
