POLICE set up a 100-metre exclusion zone in Hume today while the bomb squad dealt with two suspected pipe-bombs.
Reports of the suspicious packages in Alderson Place, Hume, reached police at about 10.15 this morning.
General duties police officers set up the 100-metre exclusion zone and requested assistance from the Special Response Group Bomb Response Team.
Employees of several businesses located inside the cordoned-off area were asked to stay inside, while the Bomb Response Team removed the packages.
The packages were taken to a controlled location and rendered safe. They will be the subject of examination and forensic analysis. Investigations are ongoing.
