Violent armed robbery in Chisholm

TWO men broke into a Chisholm home and threatened a couple with a gun before robbing them early this morning.

Around 4.45am the men forced their way into the residence of a man and woman, with one of the offenders allegedly armed with a silver handgun. He assaulted the man before stealing property and a silver Mitsubishi Mirage. The car is described as having a broken rear window and an “urban freestyle” sticker.

One of the offenders is believed to have driven off in another vehicle, while the other was driving the stolen Mitsubishi Silver Mirage.

The victim received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

One male offender is described as approximately 170cm tall (5’7”), bulky build, close cropped head with light coloured hair wearing a dark blue jumper with black tracksuit pants. The other male offender is described as having a dark shaven head and was wearing a dark blue hoodie.

Police are interested in speaking to any members of the public who may have seen persons acting suspiciously in the area or have seen the stolen vehicle.

Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
