‘Whispers’ at the Front

FORMER Canberran Tessa Dorman is bringing her new exhibition ‘Outside/Inside’ to The Front next week.

Tessa DormanFollowing a successful show, “Whispers between People,” in Paddington last year, she has documented the experience of human connection using her own special printmaking techniques, painting and paper-cutting.

“This body of work employs various elements from nature to illustrate states of internal feelings of connection to other things,” she says.

“The creation of this work took place in Brisbane, Singapore, Indonesia and Bundaberg, when the city was experiencing its most recent floods. The beauty of the process that led me up to this body of work was that I was able to gain some control over my environment, however minimal.”

Dorman grew up in Canberra before moving to Sydney to train at the National Art School, later completing a Masters at the University of Sydney. She now works as a designer and artist out of Bundaberg, Queensland.

“Outside/Inside” by Tessa Dorman at The Front Gallery, Shop 3, 1 Wattle Place, Lyneham, June 4 – 17 June 2013 Opening night 6pm, June 5. All welcome.
