Windows smashed at northside college

A COUPLE are wanted for questioning after several windows were smashed at Daramalan College in Dickson early yesterday morning.

Around 9.45am yesterday, police received reports of nine smashed windows, with an estimated total of $3000.

CCTV footage and forensic evidence were collected for examination.

The footage shows a male and female walking through the school grounds and smashing a window around 1am yesterday morning.

The male is described as Caucasian, about 165-175cm (5’5”-5’8”) tall with a medium build. He was wearing black tracksuit pants, a dark coloured hooded jacket and a black skull cap.

The female is described as being 165-175cm (5’5”-5’8”) tall with a medium build. She was wearing light-coloured tracksuit pants, a white top, multi-coloured scarf and has blonde shoulder-length hair.

Sergeant Max Mokrij from City Police Station says senseless damage like this was damaging to the whole community.

“It’s particularly disappointing as we’ve just started Operation School Safe. We’re trying to send the message out that police and the community won’t tolerate this behaviour. We’ll be doing everything we can to make sure these offenders are identified,” Sergeant Mokrij said.

“We’ll continue to focus our efforts on reducing damage in our schools for the remainder of these holidays. I ask everyone to keep a close eye on their local schools, and report anything suspicious to police”.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
