Witnesses sought to Richardson mugging

A MAN is being sought by police in relation to a mugging that took place near the Richardson IGA on Saturday morning.

Police say a 29-year-old man was assaulted by a man claiming to have a knife at around 11.50am on a footpath beside Clift Crescent, Richardson.

The victim was unharmed in the incident and the alleged offender left on foot with a packet of cigarettes and an energy drink.

The alleged offender is described as Pacific Islander or Maori in appearance, aged in his late teens to early twenties, about 173cm (5’8”) in height and weighing about 70kg, with short black hair that was long at the back.

He was described as having brown eyes and patchy facial hair similar to a goatee. He was wearing a black, short sleeved t-shirt with white or yellow writing and a picture of a motorcycle on the front, and a white t-shirt underneath.
