POLICE are seeking witnesses to a hit and run where a car collided into the back of a taxi.

At around 4.15pm on Wednesday a white Ford Falcon Taxi sedan and blue Holden Commodore stopped at a red light at the intersection of Marcus Clarke Street and University Avenue.

As the lights turned green, a third car described as a white Ford hit the rear of the Commodore causing it to collide into the back of the taxi resulting in damage to both vehicles.

The white Ford drove around both vehicles and left the scene without providing any details.

Police would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the crime stoppers website at act.crimestoppers.com.au
