Woman arrested after crashing car into garage

A MONASH woman was arrested yesterday after allegedly crashing a car, with two children inside, into a garage.

Police say when arriving at the scene at 3pm they saw a black sedan in the driveway with damage to the front end and “the driver and passenger’s side airbags deployed”. The house had substantial damage to the front garage wall and door, requiring ACT fire and rescue personnel to provide structural support.

The two children and the driver, a 43 year old woman who is currently a disqualified driver, were not injured.

Police say they suspended the woman’s licence after she refused to provide a sample of breath for analysis. She was arrested and will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on September 17 charged with drink driving, refusing to provide sample of breath and driving while disqualified.
