Woman arrested over McKellar shooting

A 56-year-old woman has been arrested and charged over a shooting yesterday in McKellar.

Around 11.30 am, police were called to Tipping Place after reports of a firearm shot. When they arrived at the property they found a 39-year-old man outside with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

The man was taken to The Canberra Hospital with minor injuries and released later that day.

A rifle was recovered from the scene and is undergoing forensic analysis.

The woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with discharging a firearm endangering life and unauthorised possession/use of a firearm.

Police will be opposing bail.
