Woman indecently assaulted in Chisholm

POLICE are searching for witnesses after a man indecently assaulted a woman in Chisholm on Saturday evening. 

About 5.30pm the victim, a 27-year-old woman, was walking across the Chisholm District Playing Fields towards Isabella Drive when she was grabbed from behind by the man.

The woman struggled and they both fell to the ground with the man straddling the victim. The victim punched and kicked the man before breaking free of his grasp and running away.

The offender was last seen running in the direction of Proctor Street, Chisholm.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 5’7” to 5’9” tall (170cm to 175cm) with a slim build and short, dark-coloured hair with curls.

He was wearing long pants, possibly tracksuit pants, and a dark-coloured plain jumper.

Police are seeking any witnesses to the incident as well as anyone who was in the area of Fadden Pines or Isabella Drive, Chisholm, between 5 and 6pm on Saturday, May 11.
