Yummo unlocks food secrets

CANBERRA couple John and Alison de la Torre have just launched what they call a “groundbreaking” food website.

Ms de la Torre said yummo.com.au was designed to help people make fast, informed choices about what they’re eating and what they feed their families by providing instant access to the food facts of more than 12,000 packaged products, including the ingredients, nutrition, allergen warnings, manufacturer and importer details, ingredient origin and packaging symbols.

It also contains the data of 1300 fresh foods and access to more than 1000 recipes complete with nutritional values.

Yummo features an Allergen Wizard, where members create a customised allergen profile so problem ingredients in food or recipes can be identified immediately.

Guests and subscribers can access elements of the website for free, while the site’s paid members have complete access to the site.
