THE Mont 24 hour mountain bike race is returning to Canberra this weekend with 3,000 riders to descend on Kowen Forest for the festive event.
This is a weekend event in which 587 teams of four to six riders will cycle for 24 hours over a 19.1km course of custom built mountain bike trails through East Kowen forest. The course has been designed to cater for cyclists of all levels from the elite to first timers.
The weekend offers a range of activities in addition to the race itself including Cyclocross races on Friday night, a Kids’ Kow race which has attracted 150 participants, and bands playing in the forest at night to entertain riders.
