Buses are free for major sports

Mascots and bus

ANDREW Barr has announced that fans of the Brumbies, Raiders, Giants and Cricket at Manuka Oval will be able to travel for free on buses to their games simply by producing a ticket.

“This joint venture between the Government and sporting codes was started after community feedback over parking, traffic and availability at sporting venues. It is hoped Canberrans will take advantage of the free services to and from the games,” Andrew said.

To launch the scheme a special “Game Day” branded bus was unveiled today.

Congratulations to the Minister. Any move towards fully taxpayer funded public transport will bring multiple benefits to the ACT.
