A TAXI driver was attacked and robbed in Garran early this morning (Saturday, December 27).
The driver picked up two men outside a Garran home at around 4.45am. One man sat in the front of the cab and pushed the gear stick into the park position. His accomplice, in the rear, held a knife to the driver’s neck. The driver handed over cash before both offenders left along Robson Street.
The front-seat assailant is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, with a medium build, and about 178cm (5’10”) tall. He was wearing a black jacket, red beanie, blue jeans, and light pink gloves while holding a red-handled hammer.
The rear passenger is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, around 30 years of age with a medium build, and about 178cm (5’10″) tall. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and holding a black knife about 15 centimetres in length.
