WORD has reached us from Geneva that Canberra’s Michael Moore has been elevated to the vice presidency of the World Federation of Public Health Associations with the Presidency to follow in 2016-2018.
Professor Heather Yeatman, President of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) said “The overwhelming support for Michael’s nomination from other public health associations world-wide is a strong testament to his very significant leadership qualities and experience. Michael is an outstanding leader and advocate for public health issues in Australia. He will make an exceptional contribution to meeting public health challenges internationally and providing support to national public health associations in member countries.”
We congratulate the former MLA and regular “CityNews” columnist and look forward to the insights this new role will give him.
ACT Health’s chief information officer, Peter O’Halloran, has received an international leadership award at the GS1 Global Healthcare conference for his leadership in digital data management over the past decade.
