Civic to get a bar dedicated to computer games

ravi

THE coming-soon Reload Bar has blogged about their plans to set up a gaming and e-sports bar in the Sydney Building.

The bar is called Reload Bar & Games and will be located in the Sydney building, at 38 Northbourne Ave. Some of you may be familiar with the premises as the NV Nightclub, and prior to that as Mercury Bar.

Reload will be a console gaming bar with a dual purpose as a dedicated venue for spectating esports. We plan to make the venue as ‘moddable’ as possible so that we have the capacity to bring in PCs, arcade machines, card and board games, or whatever else we want, as we want it. This will allow us to cater to a wide range of events and community demands.

Apparently the Barracks internet cafe is going in upstairs.

melbourne’s mana bar was a waste of realestate. a shitty beer only bar with a few xbox playing 10 year old games is not a bar.
barracks was a pro grade lan cafe running steam cafe so hopefully the bar side will be actually decent and on par with a canberra bar.
ALSO WOOT FOR JIM TO OPEN A BAR!!!
