Singing in a group gives a natural high they argue and it’s for that reason that CCS singalong segments in their concerts so that audiences can experience the joy of singing. Sunday’s day-long workshop will have fun with songs from pop, rock, musical theatre, movies, opera, classical music and even football anthems.

Tobias Cole, CCS director, is known for enthusing energising and inspiring singers of all kinds. Nothing is sacred to him – “Ode to Joy,” “We Will Rock You” and Carmen’s “Habanera” are all one to Cole.

“‘Sing!’ Is perfect for people right across the spectrum of singing abilities,” says Cole, “even those who believe they can’t hold a tune at all. From belters to crooners to croakers, if you enjoy singing, you will love ‘Sing!’”

At the end of the day, Cole Says, the whole “Sing!” crowd will be part of a singalong extravaganza backed by a professional band, featuring guest appearances by Carmen, Danny Zuko & Sandy Olsen and 1970s pop icon Björn Mercury. Well, you can take that with a grain of salt, but you get the idea.

“Sing!” At The Street Theatre, Sunday,  April 13, 10am-5pm,  fees apply. Bookings to  thestreet.org.au
