Woman killed by a bus on Canberra Avenue

ACT Policing is investigating an incident in Griffith this afternoon (Wednesday, September 10) in which a female pedestrian was struck by a bus.

Attempts were made to revive the woman but she died at the scene.

The incident occurred around 3.55pm today at the intersection of Canberra Avenue and Captain Cook Crescent.

Police attended and immediately began to divert traffic away from the scene.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team will compile a brief for the Coroner.

This is the ninth road fatality in the ACT this year.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has yet to speak to police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

ACT Policing has released the name of the female who died after being struck by a bus in Griffith yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, September 10).

She was Carolle Harrison.
