Fatal car accident in Wanniassa

A MAN has died after his car hit a tree in Wanniassa this afternoon.

Police-3206-400x266Police were called to the accident on Sternberg Crescent at about 4pm and arrived to find a black Subaru Impreza had collided with the tree. Ambulance paramedics confirmed the driver was dead at the scene.

Sternberg Crescent and Houston Street were closed briefly and police advise motorists to avoid the area during their commute home this evening.

The ACT’s 2014 road toll now stands at five.
