Fire at Manuka’s Capitol Theatre

AN estimated 40 people were evacuated from a Canberra theatre tonight after a small fire.

ACT Fire & Rescue responded to the Capitol Theatre in Manuka after being altered to the incident at 10:18pm.

Firefighters arrived a short time later and found a small fire in an internal motor.

Fire crews quickly extinguished it then ventilated the building to clear a small amount of smoke and will leave the Franklin Street premises shortly.
