IN a strange PR stunt Origin Energy are promoting their entry to the ACT market by driving a van (they call it a truck) around town offering free macarons from the fabled hand of Adriano Zumbo (or whichever apprentice has been tasked with the job).
To complete the sense of unrelated concepts enthusiastically lumped together there is also a twitter hashtag to celebrate this occurrence: #originchoicetruck .
While normally we would not feel the need to share this information the ladies of the “CityNews” office have firmly informed us they wish to know where and when they can avail themselves of the “Zumbarons” and so we pass on this knowledge to you too dear readers.

The flavours available will be, as written up by their persistent PR firm:
In addition to the “Raspberry and Mango Volt” flavour inspired by the circular red and yellow Origin logo, Canberra residents can also choose from Caramel Current, Mandarinergy and Electric Lime, Passion Powered Honeycomb, Fingerbun Flash, and Supercharged Salt & Butter Popcorn.
In amongst this excitement try to remember there’s now a third electricity utility in town.
UPDATE: In the night a packet of Zumbarons was deposited as if by Santa Claus on the doorstep of “CityNews”. The ladies in our palatial suites were most excited.
Your correspondent can report that they are indeed most delicious so well worth popping by the van regardless of your electricity supply needs.
