POLICE are seeking witnesses to an aggravated burglary which occurred in Fyshwick last night (Sunday August 24).

About 11.50pm, police received a report that a Honda Prelude had run into the front windows of Optus World on Wollongong Street, Fyshwick. The collision caused extensive damage to the shopfront, with an initial estimated cost of $10,000.

Members of City Patrol attended and it was determined that several items had been stolen from the premises. AFP Forensics attended the location this morning (August 25) and accessed the crime scene, where the vehicle remained lodged into the shopfront.

Police canvassed the area for witnesses and is seeking CCTV footage from surrounding businesses.

Anyone who may have witnessed the ram raid or have any information that could assist police should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
