Heat is on for cricket crowd

TWO people were hospitalised and 40 treated for dehydration at the Prime Minister’s XI cricket match at Manuka Oval yesterday, as temperatures soared towards 37 degrees.   Cricket

The ACT Ambulance Service assisted St John Ambulance volunteers and the event coordinator.

ACT Fire & Rescue and the ACT State Emergency Service also provided support during the event in assisting unwell patients.

The heatwave is expected to continue until the end of the week, with temperatures set to reach 40 degrees today.
