PRIME Minister Tony Abbott has announced the new Secretary of Treasury, John Fraser.
Mr Fraser brings significant experience in both the public and private sectors to his appointment.
He is currently Chairman of UBS Global Asset Management and other UBS entities in Australia and internationally. He was Chairman and CEO of UBS Global Asset Management from 2001 to 2013. He has been Chairman of Victorian Funds Management Corporation since 2009.
He has also held a number of senior Australian public service positions including as a Deputy Secretary in the Treasury.
The appointment is for five years.
