Large hail forecast as SES responds to calls

rainTHE State Emergency Service has received 20 calls for help since 11am today following the torrential wet weather that has swept across the ACT.

ACTSES volunteers and ACT Fire & Rescue are responding to mostly minor flooding incidents.

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the ACT for heavy rainfall and large hail this afternoon.

The community is urged to stay well clear of flooded drains and other waterways. Motorists are also advised to take care and drive to the conditions.

Call the ACT SES on 132 500 for storm or flood assistance.
