Late night openings at the War Memorial

THE Australian War Memorial advises that it will be open to the public during selected evenings throughout the January holiday period.

“See the Memorial brilliantly illuminated and pay your respects on the centenary of the First World War during late-night openings of the Commemorative Area,” a spokesperson said.

“Volunteer guides will provide insights into the Commemorative Area and tell stories of those who served. Listen to the recorded voices of Australian schoolchildren reciting the names and ages of the servicemen and servicewomen whose names appear on the First World War Roll of Honour. View those names as they are projected onto the Memorial building after sunset.”
