Lightning hits gas main and sets house ablaze

LIGHTNING striking a gas main is believed to be responsible for a house fire in Dunlop this afternoon.

Fire crews are working to extinguish the fire which has now fully engulfed the roof space of the property.

The Bronto aerial firefighting unit is on the scene in Menzel Crescent where crews are fighting the fire with water from inside and outside of the house. Firefighters have pulled the eves and metal sheeting away to get better access to the roof space.
