Lyneham up in arms as a Development Application for the oval is withdrawn

shane rattenbury

SHANE Rattenbury has supported a decision by the Brindabella Christian College (BCC) to withdraw the Development Application (DA) for a proposed development on Lyneham Neighbourhood Oval (LNHO).

“At a community forum last night to discuss the DA for a new sports pavilion and car park at LNHO it became clear that the DA not match community expectations,” Shane said.

“I have today been notified that the BCC has withdrawn the DA.

“It is disappointing that this project was able to progress to this stage without wider community consultation. This has, unsurprisingly, caused concern and raised many questions among the community.

“Regrettably, the process has not been undertaken in a proper and transparent fashion and, given these circumstances, I am pleased that BCC has withdrawn the DA.

“The community has raised their concerns, they have been heard and action has been taken.

“Hopefully, the withdrawal by BCC will present an opportunity to rebuild their relationship with their local community and progress discussions about the best possible future use of the LNHO.
