Dr Andrew Leigh, the Member for Fraser, will host his fourth annual ‘Welcoming the Babies’ event in Hackett on Saturday morning, for new parents whose children are under 18 months old.

The day includes fun and entertainment for children, as well as opportunities to meet others who are learning about parenthood for the first time, and to find out information about support and services available to parents.

“The morning is loads of fun for the entire family with children’s entertainment and face painting, and community information stalls making the day interesting and informative,” Dr Leigh says.

“As a father of three young boys I know how daunting it can be trying to get information about what’s out there. By bringing together the various services and organisations in one place we’re hoping to make looking after young ones that little bit easier.”

“It’s a chance for parents to find out the different what’s out there and for them to connect with other parents. It’s also a way for us to celebrate our newest and cutest community members.”

Saturday 29 March, 10.30am to 12.30pm, at the church hall and playground on the corner of Phillip Avenue and Antill Streets, Hackett. Parents are asked to register their babies (up to 18 months of age) so they can participate, by emailing andrew.leigh.mp@aph.gov.au or calling 6247 4396
