Page underpriced, Red Hill overpriced

sold

THE Aussie/RP Data Property Discounting Report reveals that one should never pay list price in Red Hill.

Over the year to June 30, 2014, 34.3 percent of houses and 26.3 per cent of apartments in Canberra sold above their list prices, with Page, Weetangera, Gungahlin and O’Connor the top performing suburbs for houses.

Meanwhile Melba, Monash and Palmerston made up the top three suburbs for apartment sales

Executive Chairman of Aussie, Mr John Symond AM, says “The findings show that Canberra’s property market is still solid, with the north of the city the best performing area for houses.”

“On the downside for sellers, all houses located in Red Hill sold below their original list prices, followed by Forrest and Isaacs, while apartments in Greenway, Reid and Gungahlin were the main under-performers. It’s also surprising how few homes sell at list price, but positive that there’s still an opportunity for savvy home buyers to negotiate down in some areas,” Symond added.
