POLICE seized two rifles and ammunition along with suspected stolen property and a substance suspected of being methamphetamine, after a tip-off led them to search a vehicle yesterday morning.
A 27-year-old Gowrie man will face ACT Magistrates Court at a later date over the matter.
The seized guns were a .22 calibre rifle and a percussion rifle, and police say they were found with a “large quantity and variety” of ammunition.
The successful search yesterday was the fifth this week to result in the seizure of suspicious items, after four unrelated searches on Monday, one of which uncovered an illicit double-barrelled shotgun and shells.
