Public school enrolments on the up

school

JOY Burch has expressed her satisfaction at rising public school enrolments, returning to the levels of 2008.

“School enrolments in the ACT have risen for the sixth consecutive year, with 59.8 per cent of all students enrolled in public schools, the latest ACT schools census shows,” Joy said.

While some may put it down to the uncertain economic climate in the Territory Joy is crediting the work of her Directorate.

“This is the biggest market share for public schools since 2008, reflecting the ACT Government’s commitment to quality learning and to putting parents and children at the centre of schools,” she said.

A wealth of statistics is available in the school census.
