Rare beer heist at The Abbey

stolen beer

ACT Policing is seeking assistance in its investigation into a burglary at The Abbey Function Centre.

Between 6.30am and 7.00am yesterday (Saturday, March 29), two men attended the business and gained access to the building by jimmying open a rear door.

During the burglary, the men stole a quantity of alcohol, including ‘d’ beer, which isn’t routinely sold in the ACT.

Due to the amount of items stolen, police believe a vehicle was used to transport the stolen property.

A witness has described a vehicle in the area around O’Hanlon Place, Nicholls which was seen acting suspicious.

The vehicle was a white Ford utility with a tray-back and ACT registration. On the tray was a large black toolbox.

Anyone who has any information in relation to the burglary or who saw anything suspicious around O’Hanlon Place, Nicholls between 6am and 7am yesterday, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1 800 333 000.
